Copies of autograph letters signed from Joseph Hill to various recipients, ca. 1864-1865 [manuscript], ca. 1864-1865.

Most letters written to Halliwell-Phillips. Others are sent to George Shakespeare and unidentified recipients. Subjects touched upon are Hill's research into the Guild of the Holy Cross, deeds in Stratford adjoining Shakespeare's dwelling, and a seal purportedly made by the "Stratford signet ring." Hill mentions meeting a descendant of Shakespeare. (17) is entitled Copy Inscription on Tablets in New Vestry-East end of St. Martin's Church; lists money bequeathed to the church by deceased members of the congregation.
